Not every smile is a perfect one. Each one is unique to the person and no two smiles look the same.

That being said, though many people tend to associate orthodontic work with meeting cosmetic needs, it is not the main goal of this sort of treatment. Orthodontics are used to correct bites and to help improve overall dental health. Here at Las Cruces Orthodontics, our orthodontist can help you by providing you with complete orthodontic evaluations that you need. We’ll help you determine which methods of treatment may work best in order to meet your specific needs.

Everyone is different and so are their teeth. Because each patient is so unique, no two orthodontic treatments are the same. This is exactly why orthodontics is its own branch of dentistry and why an initial orthodontic evaluation is necessary before moving forward. Our expert orthodontists are here to work with you and to accommodate to your smile’s specific needs. Before moving ahead with any kind of treatment or approving any method of braces treatment, our orthodontist will thoroughly examine your mouth and look at the specific geography of your teeth and their supporting structures. This initial exam will provide our dentists here at Las Cruces Orthodontics with a lot of valuable information and will help them to not only choose the proper method of orthodontic treatment but it will also help them to thoroughly plot out your treatment plan. The plan itself will change and be adjusted depending on your needs and how well you progress along the way, but with a customized blueprint set in place, your orthodontic treatment is more likely to be as successful as it can possibly be.

If you are in need of braces or evaluating your options for braces treatment in Las Cruces, then please feel free to call us here at Las Cruces Orthodontics today. We will work with you and your schedule in order to find an appropriate date and time for you to meet with our orthodontist for a complete evaluation.

Do you feel that your smile is the very best it can be? Do you feel that orthodontic services like retainers or braces could be beneficial to your smile?

Here at Las Cruces Orthodontics, we love to show our patients how much we can improve their smiles with our various orthodontic services. Many patients feel reluctant to seek out orthodontic care because they do not want to have to wear braces for months at a time, especially if they are older teenagers or adult patients. We understand this hesitation, and that is why we are happy to offer alternative options that are more accommodating. For example, many of our patients like to try out options like Invisalign. Invisalign does the same work that traditional metal and wire braces do, but does it using clear customized aligners rather than brackets and wires. This makes Invisalign much more comfortable and discreet. Another popular alternative option is the use of clear ceramic braces. With this option, we can use clear ceramic brackets rather than the darker metal brackets, which makes your braces much less noticeable. These alternative options can still treat the same common dental issues, such as gaps between teeth, overlapping teeth, overcrowded teeth, misaligned bites like over bites and under bites, and more.

Simply schedule an appointment with Las Cruces Orthodontics and we will find the treatment option that works best for you.

Invisalign: Is It an Option for You?

Traditional metal braces have always served a very important role in having straight and healthy teeth. When your teeth and jaws are not aligned the way they should be, your smile will not look the way you want it to. And furthermore, it can be difficult to floss between teeth that are misaligned, leading to a greater risk for tooth decay and gum disease. So if you realize you need braces, you end up doing it, even if you feel awkward about how they look (and even how they feel). But with Invisalign treatment, you can get all the benefits that you would get with metal braces and eliminate the drawbacks.

With metal braces, everyone can see that you’re wearing them. This can make you self-conscious, subject you to nosy inquiries, and mar your enjoyment of appearing in photographs. You could end up not even smiling while you wear them rather than highlight the wires and brackets. Well, Invisalign is not made of metal at all. In fact, while it is sometimes referred to as invisible braces, it’s more accurate to call it a system of clear aligners. Each one is fashioned from comfortable plastic that is nearly undetectable to the eye. The world need never know that you’re wearing braces.

Another negative aspect of metal braces is that they can cause discomfort by digging into your gums and you have to observe some food restrictions for fear of getting things caught in your braces. Invisalign doesn’t dig into your gums (remember, it’s plastic) and you take your aligner out when you eat, so you can have any foods that you want. You also take it out to brush and floss. Otherwise, it remains in all day and night, even while you sleep.

Invisalign is made using advanced 3-D computer technology, right here on our premises. Each one is crafted to precision. You will wear from 12 to 48 total aligners as part of your treatment. Each one is worn for about two weeks, playing its part in the proper positioning of your teeth, before being discarded in favor of the next one. With Las Cruces Invisalign treatment, getting straighter teeth has never been easier.
